O-Rings by Material
Fluorosilicone O-Rings (FVMQ)
Fluorosilicone combines the wide temperature range of silicone with resistance to fuels and oils — bridging the gap between VMQ and FKM for aerospace fuel systems and low-temperature chemical sealing.
Properties
Key Properties
| Property | Value |
|---|---|
| Temperature Range | −65 °C to +175 °C |
| Hardness Range | 40 to 70 Shore A (60 Shore A typical) |
| Resists | Aviation and automotive fuels, petroleum oils, di-ester lubricants, aromatic solvents (better than VMQ), ozone, UV |
| Avoid | Brake fluid (glycol-based), ketones, hot water/steam, abrasive environments — tear and abrasion resistance is low (similar to silicone) |
| Typical Applications | Aerospace fuel systems (jet fuel JP-4, JP-8), automotive fuel injection (cold climate), military vehicle fuel systems, oil & gas instrument seals |
| Available Standards | AS568, AMS 7257, AMS 7259, MIL-R-25988 |
