Why a kit rather than individual seals

A hydraulic cylinder typically needs five or six different seal elements working together, each in a size and profile specific to that cylinder's bore, rod diameter and groove design. Sourcing and identifying each one separately is slow and error-prone during a field repair, so FITCO builds each kit to the specifications of the machine — with drawings developed against the OEM part number for reference — so a technician can rebuild the whole cylinder from one box.

Why Use a Seal Kit

A seal kit contains every seal, wiper, guide ring and backup ring needed to completely rebuild one hydraulic cylinder. Ordering a kit rather than individual seals ensures compatibility between all components, eliminates the risk of missing a seal during reassembly, and is typically 15–25% less expensive than buying each seal separately. FITCO kits are packaged with a contents list showing the position and function of each seal for error-free installation.

Replacing all seals at once — even if only one is visibly damaged — is standard practice because the remaining seals have the same operating hours and are likely to fail soon after. Partial resealing often results in a second teardown within months, costing more in downtime than the price of a complete kit.
