Material
FKM / FPM (Fluoroelastomer)
FKM (often referenced by the trade name Viton) is a fluorine-containing elastomer built for aggressive chemical and thermal service. FITCO supplies standard, low-temperature and peroxide-cured FKM compounds selected for chemical compatibility, explosive decompression resistance and continuous-service temperature.

FKM O-rings built for chemical and high-temperature service.
Applications
Where it's used
Oil & gas downhole and surface seals, high-temperature automotive seals, chemical processing, aerospace.
Properties
Key advantages of FKM
- Excellent resistance to mineral oils, fuels, aromatic and chlorinated solvents
- Temperature range from -20°C to +200°C (short excursions to +230°C)
- Outstanding ozone, oxygen and weathering resistance
- Very low gas permeability — ideal for vacuum and high-pressure seals
- Wide hardness range (55–90 Shore A) with good compression set resistance
FITCO stocks multiple Viton® grades — A, B, GBL-S, GFLT and Extreme ETP — as well as equivalent FKM compounds from Daikin (Dai-El) and 3M/Dyneon, allowing us to match the exact fluid resistance, temperature floor and regulatory approval (FDA 21 CFR 177.2600, USP Class VI, 3-A Sanitary, WRAS) your application requires.
