Material
PTFE (Virgin, Glass, Bronze & Graphite Filled)
FITCO supplies four PTFE grades: Virgin PTFE for cryogenic and chemically inert applications; Glass-filled PTFE for improved wear and friction coefficient in high-dynamic applications such as high-rotation pumps; Bronze-filled PTFE for dynamic sealing where the bronze filler improves wear resistance, hardness and compressive strength (electrical properties and chemical resistance are reduced; molybdenum disulphide improves self-lubrication); and Graphite-filled PTFE for high thermal conductivity, reduced creep and self-lubrication in high-speed applications without external lubrication.

PTFE backup rings and seals — chemical inertness across all media.
Applications
Where it's used
Back-up rings, piston guides, bearing bushings, wear rings, valve seats, static seals in aggressive chemical or high-temperature service.

Key advantages of PTFE
- Near-universal chemical resistance — inert to virtually all chemicals, solvents and acids
- Extremely wide temperature range: -200°C to +260°C
- Very low coefficient of friction (0.05–0.10) — self-lubricating
- Zero moisture absorption, FDA and USP Class VI compliant
- Available in filled grades: glass, carbon, bronze, graphite and MoS₂ for improved wear and PV
FITCO manufactures PTFE seals, backup rings, guide rings, gaskets and custom-machined parts from virgin and filled PTFE stock. Common applications include chemical processing valves and pumps, pharmaceutical equipment, food-processing machinery and semiconductor tool sealing.
